Diggs led the Bills in catches for the second week in a row, catching six passes for a total of 108 yards and a score on Sunday night. Per NFL NextGen Stats, on none of Diggs’ targets was Alexander the closest defense. On just three of Diggs’ routes did Alexander line up opposite of him (13%)?
For two years, Diggs and Alexander were opponents on opposite sides of the field as members of rival NFC North teams, the Green Bay Packers, and the Minnesota Vikings.
During his first five years in the NFL, Diggs set a record by being the first player to score a touchdown in eight straight games versus Green Bay.

Alexander, who claimed he was “just keeping it real” when he stated to Diggs in the tunnel before the game that Diggs “couldn’t mess with me” and called the receiver a “small child,” added, “I always thought he was a solid receiver, but not much I can say about him.”
While Diggs was on the ground picking up his fumble in the first quarter, Alexander raced over and looked to shove down on Diggs’ helmet.
With Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis, who Alexander matched up against on 60.9% of Davis’ routes, it looked like Alexander and Davis had a heated argument (14). Four passes were sent toward Davis without a single reception, and Alexander was the closest defender each time.
Diggs’ closest opponent, Packers CB Rasul Douglas, was beaten on three catches for 85 yards and a score. To prevent Diggs from touching Douglas after his 26-yard touchdown reception, teammates Isaiah McKenzie and Davis had to physically restrain him.
I’m going to be the one to initiate conflict and establish authority. Diggs said, “And they grabbed me at a vital time.” There was a flag I could have had.
Therefore, it’s not so much like going for a man, but he still has to use his brain. That’s the way things go when things heat up in a game.
It seemed like the Bills’ offense and the Packers’ defense were at odds the whole game.
It’s the most communication we’ve ever had with another team, Diggs added. “Reason being I can’t explain it. You’ll be surprised to learn that we don’t engage in a great deal of verbal exchange.
You’ve seen us consistently week after week. Simply, we do what has to be done to complete the task at hand. This is how things work out occasionally. It makes no difference to me.

Diggs, who has played for the Bills since 2015, made history on Sunday when he became the first player for the team since Elbert Dubenion to record 100 receiving yards and a receiving score in three (1964).
The number of games in which he had at least 100 receiving yards and a receiving score equaled the club record set by Dubenion (five). Diggs’s season total of five touchdown catches is tied with Travis Kelce, a tight end with the Kansas City Chiefs (seven).
